How To Treat Hives

Hives… how can I treat this?
As a child, I didnt have hives. 5 yrs ago, I experienced my first hives “attack”. It’s just my body gradually became itchy… it was so itchy that I had to continuously scratch all over my body. But the more I scratch, the worse it got… in the end I just jumped to the shower and turned the temperature to max. It was so hot but at least it took away the itchiness.
For a while… after I stop showering, I felt the itch again. Anyway where I live, we dont usually go to doctor. We just go to pharmacy and ask for medicine. That’s what I did and I bought medicine that treats itchiness. It works.. but do I have to keep taking this medicine for the rest of my life? I take this medicine every 2-3 days otherwise everywhere my body will come itchy and I wont last an hour..The medicine is Cetirizine Hydrochloride.
Also, not sure if this is related… but my skin has become ultra-sensitive since 5 yrs ago.
What can I do?
Cetrizine is Zyrtec. Benadryl treats hives better than Zyrtec. Benadryl does make you drowsy.
You have some kind of allergic reaction. You should go to an allergist. Sometimes, they can give you shots which will help with the allergy. Also, you can find what you are allergic to, and can avoid it. Whether or not you’ll have to continue to take Zyrtec depends on the allergy.
